Terms and Conditions

  1. Classes are only suitable for students of 16 years of age or over unless otherwise stated in the class title and description.
  2. The Edinburgh Iyengar Yoga Centre (EIYC) recommends that if you have any health concerns which may affect your ability to practise yoga should consult your doctor before starting yoga classes and that you follow their advice when practising yoga.
  3. When participating in any exercise programme or physical activity, including yoga, you should understand that there is the possibility of sustaining injury. By joining classes at the EIYC you agree that you do so at your own risk.
  4. Students should inform the Centre, and/or their teacher, of any health issues when registering with the Centre.
  5. Students should inform the Centre, and in particular their own teacher, of any change in health, a known or new pregnancy or recent surgery/injury and, if about to take a class, must do so before the start of class.
    • If preferred, students should email info@yoga-edinburgh.com to ask for a private conversation with their class teacher.
    • Your personal information is confidential to the Centre and will not be shared with third parties without your permission.
    • The Centre cannot be responsible for any failure to take a health issue into account in its teaching if neither the student’s teacher nor the Centre has been so informed.
  6. Class price is based on the length and type of class. Some classes may be discounted for those experiencing financial difficulty. Please contact us at info@yoga-edinburgh.com for further details.
  7. The Centre has the right to amend timetabled classes/workshops or designated teachers as a result of circumstances beyond its control or due to low numbers.
  8. Cancellation with a credit to your Top-up account is accepted up to 1 hour before the start of a class or event. Classes are limited in size and booking constitutes a reserved place. 
  9. There are no credits for cancellation after the the cut-off time of 1 hour before a class or event starts.
  10. The Centre does not give monetary refunds unless circumstances are exceptional. These include new illness/injury, new pregnancies and bereavement. The Centre reserves the right to charge a £20 administration fee for managing a refund.
  11. Bookings and Top-ups cannot be transferred to another person.
  12. The personal use of mobile phones, cameras or recording equipment is not permitted in any class whether in person or online.
  13. The Centre reserves the right to refuse a student entry to a class if the class is thought to be unsuitable for the student.
  14. The Centre reserves the right to refuse a student entry to classes if the student has, in any way, disrupted a class or made it difficult for other students to enjoy the benefit of the class or if the student has poor personal hygiene.
  15. The Centre is not responsible for the safekeeping of valuables if a student is attending classes at the Centre. There are no secure lockers on the premises so please consider the items you bring to the Centre. 
  16. Bicycle racks are available outside the Centre but bicycles are left at owner's risk. The Centre does not accept responsibility for any property left at the bicycle racks.
  17. Personal items and items of clothing left at the Centre are kept in a "lost property" box. We dispose of accumulated lost property several times a year,
