I first started coming to classes at our Centre in 1986 when I was pregnant with my second child. Although I then lived a rather itinerant life as an ‘army wife’, my connection with the EIYC continued whenever possible and since settling in Edinburgh in 2010 it has become a vital and integral part of my life.
The dedication of our talented teachers means that many of those I studied with 36 years ago are still teaching here in the very same room I first took a class in!
The fact that many of our teachers personally studied with BKS Iyengar has nurtured a deep connection with his teachings and they are now mentoring wonderful new teachers in this continued tradition.
It’s good to be part of the CBS Board and I am so pleased to be able to be the Student Rep. We have suffered during the pandemic from being unable to meet many of our fellow students. But the centre has worked hard to maintain classes and ensure the ongoing viability of the Centre.
Feedback from you, the students, is hugely valued and will be a standing agenda item at our meetings.
Please do get in touch with your comments (good and bad) and ideas - I look forward to hearing from you.
