  • This will be a live class with one of our teachers who will usually be teaching from home.
  • The class will be run through video conferencing software called Zoom. You will receive a link to join the class in your booking confirmation email.
  • For equipment we recommend a minimum of a yoga mat plus 2 blocks, a belt and a chair.
  • If you do not have your own yoga equipment, try alternatives such as books or folded towels for blocks, a dressing gown belt and a sturdy kitchen/dining chair that will not tip or slip.
  • It really is best to have a mat - if not, please use a wooden or lino/vinyl floor.  We do not recommend a carpeted floor.

Special Class Saturday 12 December 17.30-18.30

This is a general class suitable for everyone Level 1 and above.

Bringing balance and openness to our hips, through a selection of standing and seated postures

In these different times we are spending more time home based and moving around less. This all affects our body and our minds.

Susan will work with you on a home practice aimed at strengthening, releasing tension and helping you go more deeply into your practice of Iyengar Yoga.

You will need 2 or more blocks or books, a bolster or 2 pillows, a belt or scarf, a blanket and your yoga mat for this class.

A chair would be useful. You do not need to have a special "yoga chair" - a sturdy 'kitchen' or 'dining' chair is fine.

Professional profile

I started practising at the Edinburgh Iyengar Yoga Centre when I was seventeen. I loved it's precision, the strong detailed instructions, and the setting we were being taught in.

I have been taught by a large variety of  Iyengar Yoga teachers, over the years,in India, France and Canada. I enjoy the excellent teaching offered still, at Edinburgh Iyengar Centre, we are lucky.

I have been an Intermediate Level 3 teacher since the 1990's and have a great joy in the practice of yoga, and in teaching others
