Intermediate Teachers

Sunday - 11:30 - 13:00
Zoom / Main room

This will be a live class with one of our regular teachers who will be teaching from home rather than at the Edinburgh Iyengar Yoga Centre.

The class will be run through video conferencing software called Zoom. You will receive a link to join the class (it will be called a meeting) beforehand. The most usual way of "joining" the class is by using a device with a camera - pc, laptop, tablet, mobile phone. Zoom is free for you as a student.

£5 - Special Online Class
Meg Laing
For this second session (and in light of the final document from Pune with further adaptations to the syllabuses) Elaine and Meg will give a sequence of asanas on the proposed new Levels 1 and 2 lists, building towards a set of related asanas on the proposed new Level 3 list.

The emphasis will be on working with an enhanced level of sensitivity and receptivity as a way into the deeper understanding needed for the cultivation of ease in the more challenging asanas. There will be time for discussion, sharing and questions.
Professional profile
Yoga is strong discipline, but it is one that brings constant interest, challenge and delight. We are very privileged to have such a vibrant yoga community in Edinburgh and an atmosphere in which we are all constantly learning from one another. I started Iyengar Yoga in Oxford in 1972 when I was still an undergraduate. When I arrived in Edinburgh in 1974 young teachers here encouraged me to go to Pune. My first visit was in 1977 in the exciting early days of the Institute there and (much to my surprise) I came away with an Introductory teaching certificate from Guruji himself. I gained my Junior Intermediate qualification in 1983 and my full Senior Intermediate in 1996 . I am also a teacher trainer and a senior examiner for the IYA(UK).
