This is a studio class at The Edinburgh Iyengar Yoga Centre. Classes are booked online up to an hour before the start of the class.
Please do not come to a class at the Centre without booking. We are sorry but there are no spaces for last a minute "Drop In".
All the equipment you need is at the Centre but you are welcome to bring your own if you prefer.

BEGINNERS: NEW START
For students completely new to yoga or new to the Iyengar method. Drop ins, with a little yoga experience welcome this block.
For complete beginners, we recommend booking the whole block since each class builds on the previous week's class.
Over the course of 7 weeks, poses (asanas) will be taught to develop strength, stamina, balance, and flexibility.
This will give you a sound grounding in Iyengar yoga.
I started practising yoga when I was a student at Edinburgh University in 1996. I was lucky enough to find the EIYC early on, and to experience the wonderful and varied teachings of Katie, Catero, Elaine and Meg amongst many others over the years.
The time was finally right for me to train as a teacher myself, and I qualified in 2020. I feel grateful to have had yoga in my life all these years, and I'm particularly enjoying this phase of my journey, sharing the joy with other students.
