Studio Class


For students completely new to yoga or new to the Iyengar method and ideally those who have completed Course 3.

**This class is booked for the whole block since each class builds on the previous week's class. If you would like to book after the block has started please email info@yoga-edinburgh.com**

Over the course of 6-8 weeks or more, poses (asanas) will be taught to develop strength, stamina, balance, and flexibility.  

This will give you a sound grounding in Iyengar yoga.


This is a studio class at The Edinburgh Iyengar Yoga Centre. Classes are booked online up to an hour before the start of the class.

Please do not come to a class at the Centre without booking. We are sorry but there are no spaces for last a minute "Drop In".

All the equipment you need is at the Centre but you are welcome to bring your own if you prefer.

I have been practising yoga since the early 1980’s following visiting the Iyengar stand in Fresher’s Week at Edinburgh University. I joined many other things too, but yoga is the one that I continue with to this day.

It has contributed positively and been with me throughout my life. 

In 2011 I qualified as a teacher and, working through teaching levels, am now a level 3 teacher.  I was fortunate to be able to visit the Ramamani Iyengar Memorial Yoga Institute, in Pune in India in 2018 and be taught by Geeta and Praschant Iyengar
